Definition |
Information about the coordinate system developed on a planar surface. Include enough information to allow the user of a geospatial data set to identify the quantities of distances, or distances and angles. These define the position of a point on a reference plane onto which the surface of the Earth has been projected. Use with the Content Standards for Digital Geospatial Metadata available at the Federal Geographic Data Committee web site. For information on punctuation, see the Punctuation section below. |

ǂc Abscissa resolution | The (nominal) minimum distance between the x or column values of two adjacent points, expressed in planar distance units of measure.
ǂd Ordinate resolution | The (nominal) minimum distance between the y or row values of two adjacent points, expressed in planar distance units of measure.

ǂh Bearing reference direction | A direction from which the bearing is measured.
ǂi Bearing reference meridian | An axis from which the bearing is measured.
ǂ6 Linkage | Data that link fields when non-Latin script is entered. This subfield is system supplied and does not appear in OCLC online displays. Do not manually add subfield ǂ6. For more information about subfield ǂ6, see Control Subfields. |
