The current publication frequency of a continuing resource (i.e., issues of a serial or updates to an integrating resource). The frequency is given in a coded form Freq, and Regl. Former publication frequencies are given in field 321.

Guidelines

Field 310 is repeatable to accommodate identifiers from different sources.

Uncertain dates that may not be the earliest or latest dates applicable to a recorded frequency are enclosed in angle brackets. When an item has ceased publication, the current frequency date is closed but remains in field 310.

A MARC code that identifies the source list from which the mode of issuance is assigned. If the term appearing in the field is from a translated version of the original source document or list, the code must be followed by the appropriate 3-character MARC language code from the MARC Code List for Languages. The language code is separated from the subfield ǂ2 code by a slash.
