王行仁 Andrew H. Wang
Vice President, OCLC Asia Pacific
Andrew joined OCLC in 1976. Under his leadership, OCLC developed the Retrospective Conversion service, TechPro contract cataloging, CAT CD350 (CD-ROM cataloging) and the Chinese-Japanese-Korean (CJK) cataloging system.
In 1986, Andrew established OCLC Asia Pacific to extend OCLC services to libraries in Asia and the Pacific region. He has been instrumental in establishing significant collaborative library programs in the region. Andrew visits key library leaders in each country regularly and makes presentations to librarians in the region year-round. His goal is to support library cooperation at the country and regional level and to link libraries into the OCLC global cooperative.
Born in Taiwan, Andrew moved to the U.S.A. initially for graduate studies and received two master’s degrees in library service (MLS) and business administration (MBA), respectively. Before coming to OCLC, he was a librarian at St. Mary’s College of Maryland, and Denison University, Granville, Ohio.
