Skip Prichard

President and Chief Executive Officer

Skip Prichard

Skip Prichard is the fifth President and CEO of OCLC. During his tenure, he has transformed the organization by reshaping its technology, invigorating its culture, and stewarding it to become a global technology powerhouse for the long-term good of libraries.

Soon after joining OCLC in 2013, Skip initiated a comprehensive infrastructure modernization initiative that matured OCLC into a cloud-based global technology platform. This transformation enabled ground-breaking new services to be developed including Choreo Analytics, WorldCat Entities and OCLC Meridian, Smart Fulfillment, Tipasa, Syndeo, and EZproxy Analytics. Other products including the top-rated WorldShare Management Services and OCLC Wise have been able to radically innovate within the OCLC technology platform. At the same time, Skip has guided seven strategic acquisitions designed to bring critical elements of the library ecosystem into OCLC's technology platform where they could not just survive but thrive.

Skip has also transformed OCLC's organizational culture into one focused on innovation, collaboration, and excellence. He redefined OCLC staff work through the deployment of AI throughout all departments, the global rollout of hybrid work environments, and several major projects that renewed OCLC's headquarters. Under his leadership, OCLC has earned nearly 50 workplace, health, and benefits awards including multiple "Best Place to Work" accolades.

Beyond his executive role, Skip is the author of the Wall Street Journal bestseller The Book of Mistakes: 9 Secrets to Creating a Successful Future, which has been translated into several languages. He shares leadership insights through his Leadership Insights blog and Aim Higher podcast and has been recognized by Inc. magazine as one of the Top 100 Leadership Speakers. His perspectives have been featured in prominent media outlets including BBC, The New York Times, Harvard Business Review, CBS, CNN, and NPR.
