Tricia Lawrence Powell

Tricia Lawrence Powell, over 20 years, boasts a fulfilling career in the library and information management field coupled with project management, compliance, risk, environment, safety, and audit. The diversity has propelled her to assume impactful leadership roles across public and private industries as well as assuming roles within her professional space being Advocacy Chair, Public Relations Chair, and nominee for presidency to the Library and Information Association of Jamaica. She is currently employed to the National Library of Jamaica as the Director of User Services and Conservation with major responsibilities for research and information, audiovisual management, special collections management, preservation, and conservation. Tricia recently assumed responsibility as an advisor of the Archive Committee gazette by parliament in June 2021. Added accomplishments are noticeably conferred as she continues to chart her path beyond the boundaries through her writing and stakeholder engagements. Tricia lives daily on the philosophy of being true to self and work toward excellence while giving a helping hand. She is married, has two daughters, and loves to dance.
