Barbara G. Preece is Director, Loyola Notre Dame Library located in Baltimore, Maryland. The Library serves Loyola University Maryland and Notre Dame of Maryland University.

Barbara previously served as Dean of the Library, California State University San Marcos; Executive Director of the Boston Library Consortium, Inc.; Interim Associate Dean of Technical and Automated Services at Southern Illinois University Carbondale; and Head of Technical and Automated Services at the Shawnee Library System in Illinois.

Barbara received her M.A. in Library Science from the University of Minnesota and her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of New Hampshire.

She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the National Information Standards Organizations (NISO) and the Maryland Digital Library Board.

Barbara served as Chair of OCLC’s Americas Regional Council and President of the OCLC Global Council.

She was elected to the Board of Trustees by OCLC’s Global Council in April 2015.
