Board of Trustees

Berndt Dugall is Direktor a.D./Librarian at Universität Frankfurt’s Universitätsbibliothek Johann Senckenberg (Frankfurt am Main, Germany). He has served the OCLC membership since 2005 in various Global Council roles, most recently as Global Council Vice President (2010–2011), then as President (2011–2012). His term on the Board began in November 2013.

Berndt served as Chief Librarian at Universität Frankfurt’s Universitätsbibliothek Johann Senckenberg from 1988 to 2013. He was Chief Librarian at Justus Liebig Universität Gießen from 1986 to 1988, and Deputy Librarian at Philipps Universität Marburg from 1983 to 1986.

He has served as Chair of the German Document Delivery Service Subito since 2005. He has previously served as Lecturer Faculty of Economics at Goethe University Frankfurt, Head of the Section of University Libraries within the German Library Association, and was a Member of the Library Commission of the Wissenschaftsrat, the German Advisory Council for the Government in the Field of Science and Education.

Berndt received an honorary doctorate degree from the Goethe University in July 2013, and was awarded the Hessischer Verdienstorden, an honorable medal of the state of Hesse, in October 2013.
