Introduction to OCLC Policies Directory Online

The OCLC Policies Directory is a vital component of WorldCat Resource Sharing (WCRS), and it is quickly evolving to add innovative features for other OCLC products and services. This one-hour session covers the basic organization of the Policies Directory as well as the more in-depth information needed to optimize a library’s resource sharing work.

Topics covered include creating a loan and copy policy for other libraries to view, creating a deflection policy to deflect undesired ILL requests, and how to change supplier status. The workshop also covers how to do both basic and advanced searches, and how to display search results to create custom holdings groups.
