Tips

  • Browsing by letter helps you view a long list of titles by letting you view the list in parts.
  • You must type the beginning of a title in the Title box. Your browse finds titles that begin with the letters or numbers that you type.
  • You must make a selection in the Database box. Select one database to view the titles in that database or select Search All Databases.
  • You can choose to view Full Text Titles Only (titles for which full-text articles are available in FirstSearch) or All Titles (whether or not their full-text articles are available in FirstSearch).
  • You can choose how many titles are shown on each results page. Showing results in pages is faster than showing all results on one page.

Examples

  • Type a to find titles beginning with A, such as ABM: Australian Business Monthly; American Horticulturist; Aviation History and titles beginning with the English articles A or An. (Titles beginning with The are listed with titles beginning with T.)
  • Type ab to find titles beginning with Ab, such as ABA Banking Journal; Abacus; About Women & Marketing; Abstracts in Social Gerontology.
  • Type 3 to find titles beginning with 3, such as 321 Contact; 33 Metal Producing.

Wildcard characters

% (percent) = 0 or more characters
_ (underscore) = 1 character only

An invisible % wildcard character is included at the end of the Title box so you can type the beginning letter or letters of a title in the box.
