Libraries founded and built the cooperative and member libraries own the cooperative today. The role that OCLC members play in the guidance, health and growth of the organization cannot be overstated. Put simply, everything OCLC does is intended to provide increased value for its members.

A new way to access the OAIster database

OCLC is pleased to announce that a freely accessible site for searching only OAIster records is now available. With this OAIster site, you are able to search only OAIster and its millions of metadata records. OAIster has grown to become one of the world's largest aggregations of records pointing to open-archive collections with more than 23 million records contributed by over 1,100 organizations worldwide.

Now find library listings from WorldCat in RedLaser iPhone app

A popular app for iPhone users, RedLaser now includes library listings when a user scans a book barcode with their iPhone. The app uses the WorldCat Search API and WorldCat Registry APIs to deliver results for libraries nearby who hold the item in WorldCat.

QuestionPoint continues to evolve with Mobile Webkit Qwidget

QuestionPoint, the complete reference management service that provides libraries with tools to interact with users in multiple ways—using chat, e-mail and chat widget (Qwidget)—continues to evolve. The service has recently been enhanced with the addition of new Qwidgets, customizable Qwidget skins and new formatting capabilities and expanded access to knowledge bases.
