Research Library Partnership: Wikimedia Interest Group
The OCLC Research Library Partnership (RLP) Wikimedia Interest Group is for those engaged in activities with Wikipedia, Wikidata, or other Wikimedia projects. This interest group extends the work that has been done in OCLC Research related to Wikipedia and Wikidata. Participants will:
- attend monthly or bimonthly virtual meetings (via WebEx)
- build relationships with other librarians engaging in Wikipedia, Wikidata, or other Wikimedia projects across the partnership
- digg into core concepts, share challenges and successes, and identify areas for learning more about this new and emerging area that connects to the mission of libraries
Interest group sessions will be facilitated by RLP Senior Manager Merrilee Proffitt. Participants will bring their experience and curiosity and engage in discussion with fellow interest group participants. Participants can also sustain conversation with other RLP members through a listserv.
Anyone currently engaged with leveraging a Wikimedia project at their institution is eligible to join; early career librarians are particularly encouraged to join us.
