OCLC Research Past Awards

OCLC ALISE LIS Grant

OCLC and ALISE have partnered for many years to advance the library and information science (LIS) discipline and profession. In support of this partnership, OCLC sponsored the OCLC/ALISE Library and Information Science Research Grants (LISRG) from 1985 to 2018, funding 134 LIS faculty research projects.

While our commitment to partnering with the LIS community continues, the LISRG program ended in 2018. Although OCLC no longer sponsors LIS faculty research with grant funds, we continue to support LIS research and education by providing open access to our research, share our research data sets, identify opportunities for faculty to work with OCLC research staff, and support LIS graduate students in contributing to our research projects.

Visiting Scholars Program

The OCLC Visiting Scholars Program ran 1978-2003 and allowed experienced scientists, educators, and administrators with demonstrated research capabilities to pursue projects on site at OCLC. Visiting scholars conducted research in areas of mutual interest to themselves and OCLC so that both benefited from a close working relationship.
