E-mail and Discussion Lists

The following e-mail and discussion lists have been developed expressly to support continuing conversations around our current work, share updates and solicit volunteers for new activities. For the convenience of all staff of OCLC Research Library Partnership institutions, below are descriptions of many of the lists that are available for subscription. Get in touch with the staff identified—we'll get you added as quickly as possible!

List Description
Announcements to Partners Listserv
(OCLCRLP-Announce-L)

Used to communicate with staff at OCLC Research Library Partner institutions about Partnership work, events, publications and participation opportunities, this is moderated listserv with a long-established subscriber base. Messages are typically sent once a week in digest format (usually on Fridays) but individual messages are also sent other times as-needed. Open to staff from OCLC Research Library Partnership institutions at all levels with all interests.

Art & Architecture Listserv
(OCLCRLP-Art-Architecture-L)

This long-established list for OCLC Research Library Partners only is where art and architecture librarians gather.

Heads of Systems Listserv
(OCLCRLP-Systems-L)

This moderated listserv with a long-established subscriber base is used to communicate occasional notes of interest relating to OCLC happenings in this area; to solicit agenda topics prior to meetings; to distribute meeting notes following meetings; and to solicit volunteers for help with particular projects. Open to OCLC Research Library Partnership staff with an interest in systems-related issues (not limited to Heads of such departments).

Metadata Management Interest Group List

This list is used to communicate updates, seek partner guidance, solicit volunteers for related working groups and inform interested staff of opportunities related to our Metadata Support and Management program of work. Open to OCLC Research Library Partner staff interested in initiatives in this areas or involved in creating and using metadata and related issues (not just technical services staff).

Primary Sources Listserv
(OCLCRLP-Primary-Sources-L)

This moderated listserv with a long-established subscriber base is used to communicate updates, seek partner guidance, solicit volunteers for related working groups and inform interested staff of opportunities related to our Mobilizing Unique Materials program of work. Open to staff of OCLC Research Library Partnership institutions with an interest in "primary sources" (rare books, archives, special collections, etc.).
