Dewey Services : Updates
Stay current with ongoing updates to the DDCThe Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) system is updated on an ongoing basis. Check the Dewey Web site regularly for the resources you'll need to keep your collections organized and current. These resources include new and changed entries, which the DDC editors post and implement monthly and LCSH/DDC numbers of interest, which suggest how classifiers can treat materials in topics that were introduced after the current print edition of the DDC was published. All libraries face myriad challenges in classifying their library materials. The Dewey editors seek the advice of Dewey users on ways to improve treatment of specific subject areas in occasional Discussion papers with instructions for returning comments. Subscribe to 025.431: The Dewey blog for ongoing advice on the use of the DDC. If you classify electronically, check frequently for WebDewey enhancements updates that keep you informed about new WebDewey functionality that enhances your classification productivity. All copyright rights in the Dewey Decimal Classification system are owned by OCLC. |
