Senior Program Officer

Dr. Annette Dortmund serves as a Senior Program Officer at OCLC Research, where she coordinates and supports research and engagement programs in Europe for the Research Library Partnership related to next-generation metadata, including persistent identifiers in scholarly communication and library linked data. She has co-authored a number of OCLC publications, including Convenience and Compliance: Case Studies on Persistent Identifiers in European Research Information Management and Social Interoperability in Research Support: Cross-Campus Partnerships and the University Research Enterprise.
In recent years, she has examined the adoption and integration of persistent identifiers in scholarly communication and their important role in the transition of library data to linked data. Currently, Annette focuses on the challenges and needs associated with implementing next-generation metadata workflows in libraries and other cultural heritage institutions
Annette graduated with a Magister Artium in Book Studies, Latin Philology, and Comparative Literature from the University of Mainz, receiving her doctorate from there in 1998. She has been working for OCLC in a variety of roles since 2001.
