Description

In the third and final webinar of the three-part Realities of Data Management webinar series, we will examine how institutions are making decisions about infrastructures, services, and personnel to support local RDM services. A clear finding from OCLC Research’s The Realities of Research Data Management study is that one size does not fit all, and the choices that individual institutions make with respect to sourcing and scaling depend on a host of factors, including local staffing and infrastructure, availability of cooperatively sourced or nationally provisioned services, and willingness to pay for commercially sourced solutions. Additional variables come into play, including partnership with other institutional stakeholders, efficiency/cost reduction, and trust.

This webinar is the third in a three-part series based upon The Realities of Research Data Management series published by OCLC Research in 2017-18. It will be of interest to library leaders and scholarly communications librarians. Given the enterprise nature of research data management, it will also be relevant to other institutional stakeholders including deans, research administrators, institutional researchers, and IT professionals. Interested RLP members may also choose to participate in an accompanying RDM Interest Group community.
