LIANZA, the New Zealand Library Association, is the professional organization for the New Zealand library and information management profession. The LIANZA 2013 Conference: Wai-Ora, Wai-Māori, Waikato, takes place 19-23 October in Claudeland, Hamilton. This annual conference typically attracts in excess of 600 library and information professionals and includes a vendor exhibition of around 65 library suppliers. This year’s conference theme references the most significant landmark of this region, the Waikato River. Rivers are powerful forces, relentless and enduring, giving and sustaining life: Tributaries, big and small, come together to create a diverse and connected system that is greater than the sum of its parts.
