WorldShare Record Manager allows you to search for matching records in WorldCat to accelerate copy cataloging and create new or enrich existing items in WorldCat. Record Manager provides efficient, record-at-a-time metadata management for your physical and electronic materials using either a MARC 21 editor or a Text View editor. Plus, with Record Manager, you can set and delete WorldCat holdings and export bibliographic and authority records.
Manage records quickly and easily
The current release of WorldShare Record Manager complements functionality available in Connexion. OCLC has developed and continues to introduce a number of new capabilities in WorldShare Record Manager, to help make management of your resources even easier.
With the robust capabilities of Record Manager, you can:
- Search for matching records in WorldCat to accelerate copy cataloging
- Create and enrich WorldCat bibliographic records using either a MARC 21 editor or a Text View editor
- Efficiently edit records using reusable field and text strings, Constant Data templates and transliteration tools to add non-latin script for Arabic, Persian and 8 languages written in Cyrillic script.
- Set and Delete WorldCat holdings
- Export bibliographic records and manage lists of records to export
- Save in-progress bibliographic records to online save file, accessible from both Record Manager and Connexion
- Manage local holdings records (LHRs) and local bibliographic data (LBD)
- Create and print spine labels from LHRs or bibliographic records in standard formats or use new custom options
- Create, add, derive, edit, and replace LC/NACO Name Authority records
- Search, display, and export Getty Art & Architecture Thesaurus (AAT), Biblioteca Nacional de España (BNE), Canadiana, FAST (Faceted Application of Subject Terminology), GND (German National Library), Library of Congress, Māori Subject Headings, MeSH, NTA Names (Dutch Royal Library) and Répertoire de vedettes-matière (RVM) authority files
- View information on WorldCat Works
- Incorporate auto-suggest FAST subject headings
- Link to the RDA Toolkit via IP authentication
