Modern library systems with hybrid delivery at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers

The Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) offers a hybrid library experience, with online and in-person service channels taking members to relevant print and digital resources.

WorldShare® Management Services (WMS) is the starting point of a seamless journey to full text. The library was keen to make a range of options available from every library search on WorldCat® Discovery.

Members can arrange a postal loan from their search results or request an interlibrary loan. Many give the library positive feedback about the speed of delivery achieved through Tipasa®.

IMechE's own policy reports, lectures, and conference papers have real research value for members. IMechE uses CONTENTdm® to store and manage home-grown content, which is then accessible on WorldCat® Discovery.

The library at IMechE offers intuitive online services without taking away the in-person support and delivery channels that members value. One member emailed the library team, saying, "For me, the library is the best thing about being an IMechE member!"
