OCLC, Archives, the Research Library Partnership, and You!
In this presentation Merrilee Proffitt and Chela Scott Weber talk about the work done by OCLC to support archives and archival professionals. Highlighted work includes; our 2018 report Research and Learning Agenda for Archives, Special, and Distinctive Collections in Research Libraries, which guides much of our work in this area; work to supporting stewardship of rare and unique AV Materials; a working group report on the descriptive needs of archives and special collections in the linked data environment; the Collection Building and Operational Impacts working group, and the tools and resources they will be releasing this winter to helps to balance collection decisions and stewardship capacities; and research work in support of a national archival discovery infrastructure for the National Archival Finding Aid Network (NAFAN) project led by the California Digital Library in partnership with OCLC Research and the University of Virginia Library, and is supported by IMLS.
