A key benefit of OCLC membership is the opportunity to participate in its governance. Individuals from OCLC member libraries are appointed to Leaders Council to support the global membership by electing trustees and exchanging local and regional views on the issues facing libraries today. Member libraries have a voice through Leaders Council.
Leaders Council facilitates connections across world regions, uniting councilors from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa; Asia Pacific; and the Americas. Members from each region serve on the OCLC Leaders Council, bringing worldwide viewpoints together, informing OCLC by sharing unique perspectives.
The Leaders Council is comprised of 24 councilors from OCLC member libraries around the world. With councilors from the Americas, EMEA, and Asia Pacific, the council works on behalf of the global membership to share insights on issues of importance to libraries.
Leaders Council is a vital part of the OCLC governance structure, electing six of the 14 members of the OCLC Board of Trustees.
