JD Shipengrover

User Interface Designer

J.D.?s primary work is to bring user-centered interface design principles to the prototypes created by OCLC Programs and Research.

The main tools she utilizes for rapid UI prototyping are paper and pencil, xHTML, CSS, JavaScript, Photoshop, and Illustrator. She also employs Flash, Flex and other UI development tools, such as APIs and JavaScript libraries, when appropriate.

Her personal research interests include Usability in Web Design, Web Standards, and Information Visualization and Usability in Information Visualization.

She holds B.A.s in Journalism and the History of Art from The Ohio State University, and a Masters in Library and Information Science from Kent State University.

She has been working in Web Design for over 13 years.
