Lorcan Dempsey to Serve as Course Director for Ticer International Summer School 2012

 
The 15th edition of the Ticer Summer School on Digital Libraries will be held from 21-24 August in Tilburg, the Netherlands.

As this year's course director, Lorcan Dempsey will facilitate the program and moderate discussion.

The 2012 Summer School program is organized in cooperation with LIBER, the Association of European Research Libraries. New to the program this year is a three-day Library Directors' Course that will take place prior to the Summer School. This new course is a part of a more extensive Leadership Program that will start in June 2012 and will continue after the Summer School.

The Summer School itself consists of four modules:

  • Module 1: Tuesday, 21 August – Library Strategy in the 21st Century: From Vision to Execution
  • Module 2: Wednesday, 22 August – Libraries Leveraging the Cloud: Technological Developments
  • Module 3: Thursday, 23 August – Redefining Research Support
  • Module 4: Friday, 24 August – Connecting Students, Faculty and Resources
Ticer (Tilburg Innovation Centre for Electronic Resources) is a business unit of Library and IT Services, Tilburg University, the Netherlands. Ticer's aim is to make Tilburg University expertise on digital libraries and IT infrastructure available to parties outside the university via consultancy, and to facilitate the international exchange of digital library expertise via high quality courses and seminars. Ticer organized the first International Summer School on Digital Libraries in 1996.
