"Supply and Demand: Special Collections and Digitisation" Article Featured in LIBER Quarterly

Written by Senior Program Officer Ricky Erway, the article is based on a presentation she gave at the July 2008 LIBER preconference at Koc University in Istanbul, Turkey.

LIBER provides the following abstract about the article: "Based on the outcome of an RLG event entitled 'Digitisation Matters', the author presents a number of thought-provoking and sometimes provocative ideas to make more of libraries' special collections available on the web, stressing access and quantity as key factors."

The paper and presentation grew from challenges posed by professionals from RLG Partner institutions and includes many examples where the community is taking on those challenges. These challenges are also reflected in the RLG work agenda project, "Increase the Scale of Special Collections Digitization."
