OCLC Programs and Research sponsors JISC Conference 2008, 15 April at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham, England
Lorcan Dempsey, OCLC Chief Strategist, and Vice President, Programs and Research, will speak at the event in a session entitled, "From e-Lib to the Library of the Future" regarding the emerging issues that face libraries and information services today, as well as the long-term changes that will lead to the library of the future.
Also attending the event from OCLC will be John MacColl, RLG Programs European Director; Lynn Connaway, Senior Research Scientist; Janifer Gatenby, Research Integration and Standards.
In an interview to mark OCLC's sponsorship of the JISC Conference 2008, John MacColl said that OCLC is "delighted" to sponsor this year's JISC conference. He also spoke of the importance of libraries to academic success, their major influence on the engagement of education and research sectors with the Web, and the leading role of OCLC in supporting libraries across the world.
