Godby, Smith, and Childress paper on Interoperable Metadata available on OCLC Research Web site

 
This paper, "Two Paths to Interoperable Metadata," was presented at the 2003 Dublin Core Conference in Seattle, Washington (USA).

It describes a prototype for a Web service that translates between pairs of metadata schemas and argues for a design featuring a more distinct separation of syntax from semantics.
