About Doug Tudhope's DSS Presentation Files

Towards Terminology Services: Experiences from the FACET project

Douglas Tudhope

Reader, School of Computing
University of Glamorgan
Pontypridd, Wales (UK)

24 April 2006, 9:30-11:00 a.m.

Two versions of Doug's DSS presentation file are available:

  1. The best way to view the presentation involves several .avi movie files linked from images within the presentation file. In order to achieve this experience, you must have a special codec file not usually supplied with most media players.

This file, the TechSmith Screen Capture Codec (TSCC.exe), is available for free from WMPlugins.com, or you can download it from our site (EXE: 191K).

Once you have downloaded and installed the codec, you may view the full presentation. When screen shots are displayed, click on the screen images to play the click-action sequence movie.

    • A zip file (ZIP: 6.3MB/9 objects) is available which contains the full presentation, all linked movies, and the TechSmith Screen Capture Codec, if you would like to install everything on your own machine and run the presentation locally.
  2. A simpler, but less-complete viewing experience is available. (This version displays initial, fixed-screen images only, but no click-action sequence movies.)
