Description
Library and data science researchers, digital humanists, and software developers are invited to come to OCLC headquarters in Dublin, Ohio, for a two-day Big Data Summer Camp to share information and experiences with processing large data sets.
If you work with, or are interested in working with, technologies like Apache Spark, Hadoop, notebooks, and more, you should consider coming to this conference. Participants will have an opportunity to work with WorldCat data, the largest aggregation of library bibliographic data in the world, alongside OCLC data scientists familiar with how to work with it.
What will happen over the two days will be collaboratively planned in the Code4Lib "Spark in the Dark" Slack channel. See instructions at the bottom of this page for connecting: https://code4lib.org/irc if you wish to participate in the planning.
OCLC will provide lunch and break catering and a welcoming reception on Thursday evening.
Registration will re-open at a later date.
