48 new libraries join OCLC's WorldShare Management Services community
Momentum builds as leading libraries and groups continue to move to WMS
DUBLIN, Ohio, 24 June 2026—OCLC's WorldShare Management Services (WMS), the first cloud-based library services platform and the only one built with WorldCat as its foundation, has added 48 libraries to its expanding community over the last 12 months. WMS makes it possible for libraries to gain significant efficiencies, improve user experience, increase the visibility of their collections, and collaborate with other leading institutions worldwide through OCLC's global network.
Built on WorldCat, the world's most comprehensive network of data about libraries, WMS is an integrated library services platform that supports a user-focused experience, and unified management of electronic and physical resources. WMS provides users access to hundreds of millions of bibliographic records and leverages the cooperative power of thousands of libraries. This shared infrastructure reduces duplication of effort and empowers libraries to focus more time and resources on local priorities and services.
"WorldShare Management Services helps libraries operate with greater efficiency, flexibility, and collaboration on a global scale," said Mary Sauer-Games, Chief Product Officer, OCLC. "We continue to enhance the platform based on ongoing consultation and feedback from our library partners. WMS supports student success and helps libraries meet the complex demands of today's evolving information environment."
Since July 2024, more than 100 new libraries have joined the WMS community. These are leading universities, community colleges, library groups, government agencies and other special libraries. WMS meets high international procurement standards, and maintains U.S. federal security certifications that satisfy strict requirements of government and special libraries and accelerate the selection process.

About OCLC
OCLC is a nonprofit global library organization that provides shared technology services, original research and community programs so that libraries can better fuel learning, research and innovation. Through OCLC, member libraries cooperatively produce and maintain WorldCat, the most comprehensive global network of data about library collections and services. Libraries gain efficiencies through OCLC’s WorldShare, a complete set of library management applications and services built on an open, cloud-based platform. It is through collaboration and sharing of the world’s collected knowledge that libraries can help people find answers they need to solve problems. Together as OCLC, member libraries, staff and partners make breakthroughs possible.
