SHEFFIELD, UK, 16 October 2025—OCLC announced today that the University of Chichester has selected OCLC's WorldShare Management Services (WMS) as its library services platform. The comprehensive cloud-based platform will help the university streamline library operations and provide enhanced access to global research resources for students and faculty.

With origins that date back as far as 1839, the University of Chichester was ranked in the top 30 UK universities in the Guardian University Guide 2025. The university serves more than 6,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students, offering programs across a range of disciplines including education, humanities, social sciences, sport, and creative arts.

"We are very excited to be working with OCLC. WMS will integrate well with our other systems and suppliers, such as our reading list software," said Karen Lloyd, University Librarian at the University of Chichester. "The new system will provide access to further resources and research from across the world, enhancing both the student and staff experience. We particularly like the way in which we can configure the user interface for the library catalog to suit our students' needs. The new system will also provide the capability for more efficient ways of working for both students and staff, providing greater student and staff satisfaction."

WMS provides libraries with a comprehensive, cloud-based library services platform that includes acquisitions, circulation, cataloging, and discovery capabilities. The platform is designed to help libraries reduce costs, increase efficiency, and provide better service to their users.

"We're very pleased to welcome the University of Chichester to the WMS community," said Eric van Lubeek, Managing Director, OCLC EMEA and APAC. "The university's commitment to enhancing the student and staff experience aligns with our mission to help libraries advance learning, teaching, and research. We look forward to working with the university to support these goals."
