Srinakharinwirot University now live with OCLC's WorldShare Management Services, the 'best solution' for staff and library users
The Central Library 'takes pride in being a member of the global OCLC network'
DUBLIN, Ohio, 14 August 2025 — Calling OCLC's WorldShare Management Services (WMS) the "best solution" for both staff and library users, Srinakharinwirot University, in Bangkok, Thailand, is now live with WMS as its library services platform.
The move to WMS comes just as the university library is celebrating a major milestone in its history.
"The Central Library of Srinakharinwirot University will celebrate its 50th anniversary in August 2025," said Asst. Prof. Dr. Woraphon Aramrussameekul, Director of the Central Library. "As the library evolves into a digital library, we focus on providing multiple solutions for discovering and accessing information resources, and offering new services to better serve our users. Our chosen solution, WorldShare Management Services, is praised for its stability, efficiency, dependability, and usability for both staff and users."
Dr. Woraphon said that OCLC's resource sharing services and worldwide network of member libraries working collaboratively were a key motivating factor in moving to WMS.
"One significant advantage of WMS is its Interlibrary Loan capability, WorldShare ILL. This feature is critical for sharing the vast number of information resources available today, as no single library can possess everything. Our library sees WMS as the "best solution" and takes pride in being a member of the global OCLC network, striving to flourish as a prominent library alongside it," said Dr. Woraphon.
WorldShare Management Services, built with WorldCat as its foundation, allows library staff to better meet the teaching, learning, and research needs of their users. With cataloging, circulation, acquisitions, and e-resource management capabilities, along with access to the world's largest resource sharing network, WMS makes it possible for libraries of all sizes to use their resources to make the greatest impact while easily extending their reach beyond their own electronic and print collections.
Srinakharinwirot University is a public autonomous university in Bangkok. Founded in 1949, the university was the first upper-education institution to concentrate solely on teacher training. Srinakharinwirot University has two campuses: Prasarnmit Campus in Bangkok and Ongkharak Campus in Nakhon Nayok province. Other minor campuses include Bhodivijjalaya College's campuses in Sa Kaeo province and Mae Chaem district in Chiang Mai province. The university's motto, "Education is Growth," reflects its original focus on teacher training and is symbolized by its logo that resembles an exponential graph—representing exponential growth.
"We're proud to welcome Srinakharinwirot University to the ever-growing WorldShare community," said Eric van Lubeek, Managing Director, OCLC EMEA & APAC. "We're confident that the Central Library will realize great benefits as a member of the OCLC network, and we know that libraries around the world will welcome the addition of Srinakharinwirot University to the community."
