OCLC is connecting NLM with libraries worldwide

DUBLIN, Ohio, 14 January 2025ILLiad has been selected by the National Library of Medicine (NLM), part of the National Institutes of Health, as its interlibrary loan (ILL) and document delivery management system. The decision to use ILLiad came in response to a competitive proposal process for NLM's ILL and document delivery needs.

ILLiad, developed by Atlas Systems, Inc. and offered in partnership with OCLC, is a trusted solution for libraries. With its integration into OCLC's WorldShare Interlibrary Loan network—connecting over 10,000 libraries in more than 50 countries—ILLiad streamlines interlibrary loan workflows and offers a suite of advanced features designed to meet the complex needs of library systems.

In addition to being used by medical libraries, health science libraries, and medical centers, ILLiad is the leading ILL management system used by major institutions, including ARL member libraries, research libraries, and the Big Ten Academic Alliance (BTAA) member libraries. Its reputation for reliability and efficiency makes it the preferred choice for large libraries seeking to better manage their ILL and document delivery services.

Key features of ILLiad include:

  • DOCLINE Integration: ILLiad's integration with DOCLINE enhances efficiency for medical and health sciences libraries by streamlining biomedical resource sharing directly within the ILLiad platform.
