DUBLIN, Ohio, 8 January 2025—The WISPALS Library Consortium, a consortium of Wisconsin technical colleges, has selected WorldShare Management Services (WMS) as its library services platform. WMS will help WISPALS libraries improve efficiency, share resources, and provide a better user experience for students and faculty.

"We like that WMS is an integrated system that will increase the efficiency of each library's workflows," said Kim LaPlante, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College Library Director and part of the evaluation and selection committee. "The selection of WMS was the right decision. We look forward to working together on the WorldShare platform."

WISPALS (Wisconsin Project for Automated Libraries) includes 11 technical colleges across Wisconsin with multiple campus locations, including Blackhawk Technical College, Fox Valley Technical College, Gateway Technical College, Lakeshore Technical College, Mid-State Technical College, Moraine Park Technical College, Northcentral Technical College, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, Northwood Technical College, Waukesha County Technical College, and Western Technical College. They provide members access to library systems, information resources, databases, and other services. Their programming supports the exchange of library skills and best practices, and they serve as a liaison between member libraries and library organizations.

"We needed a library services platform that would be easy for our members to use and include everything they needed to manage the library," said Melody Clark, WISPALS Project Manager. "With 11 institutions and more than 30 campuses, it was essential that each library could access the benefits of shared resources while retaining autonomy. By choosing WMS, we're excited to see how our libraries can grow and better serve their users."

WorldShare Management Services, built with WorldCat as its foundation, allows library staff to better meet the teaching, learning, and research needs of their users. With cataloging, circulation, acquisitions, e-resource management, and resource sharing capabilities, WMS makes it possible for libraries of all sizes to use their resources to make the greatest impact while easily extending their reach beyond their own electronic and print collections.

"We're excited to welcome WISPALS libraries to the growing WorldShare community," said Mary Sauer-Games, OCLC Chief Product Officer. "We're confident that WMS will provide more opportunities for library staff to collaborate and help students and faculty achieve their goals."
