Metadata set for Digital Archiving

One of the many benefits of OCLC's Digital Archive is an extensive preservation metadata set. Originally developed in consultation with users, the metadata elements will evolve with the rapidly changing world of digital preservation. OCLC is an active member of PREMIS (Preservation Metadata Implementation Strategies), which is developing recommendations and best practices for implementing preservation metadata.

True to its heritage as a metadata leader, OCLC has developed Dissemination Information Packages (DIPs) and Submission Information Packages (SIPs) that conform to METS (Metadata Encoding and Transmission Standard).
