Joseph Hafner

Joseph is the Associate Dean, Collection Services, at McGill University, located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. During his career, Joseph has held leadership positions at both McGill University and at the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library. He has been an active member of the International Association of Music Libraries (IAML), where he is currently editor of "Recent Publications in Music" and where he served two terms as a Vice President. He is active in the IFLA, where currently he is Chair of the Linked Data Technical Subcommittee (LIDATEC) and helped launch the IFLA Namespaces website. He is on both the HathiTrust Program Steering Committee and the HathiTrust Community Metadata Strategy Task Force. Joseph holds a BM in Music Performance from Butler University and a Master of Library Science from Indiana University. He is the co-editor of "Space and collections earning their keep: transformation, technologies and retooling" published by De Gruyter in 2016.
