Geoffrey Robert Little

Geoffrey Robert Little is the Vice-Provost and Chief Librarian at Western University in Ontario, Canada, and began a five-year term in this role in July 2024. Before joining Western, Mr. Little served as Associate University Librarian for Scholarly Communication at Concordia University, where he was the Founding Director of Concordia University Press. There, he played a key role in developing a multi-phase digital preservation service, expanding the Open Educational Resources (OER) program, and implementing ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID). He began his academic library career at Yale University, where he worked as Communications Coordinator and contributed to collection development, instruction, and advancement programs.

Mr. Little has published and presented widely, and his work has been supported by grants or fellowships from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts, and the Bibliographical Society of Canada. In 2022-2023, he was the Patricia Fleming Fellow in Bibliography and Book History at the University of Toronto and a Visiting Scholar at Massey College. He is currently the chair of the Amherst College Press advisory board. Mr. Little has served on Leaders Council since 2025.
