Chi-Shiou Lin
Library Director, National Taiwan University
Chi-Shiou Lin is the Director of the National Taiwan University Library and a professor in the Department of Library and Information Science at National Taiwan University (NTU) in Taipei, Taiwan. He has held several academic and administrative roles at NTU since 2007, including Chair of the Department of Library and Information Science and Associate University Librarian, before being appointed University Librarian in August 2024. Previously, he served as the Government Information Services Librarian at National Chengchi University's Social Science Data Center and Associate Lecturer at the School of Library & Information Studies, University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Dr. Lin's current research interest lies at the intersection of scholarly communication, informetrics, and academic information behavior. His recent research includes predatory publishing, citation motivations in academic writing, and counting inflation resulting from various sources of influence that may distort quantitative research evaluation. He also conducted research on reader engagement with genres and information literacy for archives and manuscripts. His work has been published in international journals, and he received the ALA Catharine J. Reynolds Award in 2007 and the College-level Excelsior Chair Professorship from the NTU College of Liberal Arts in 2025. He has also served as executive editor for both the Journal of Library and Information Science Research (Taiwan Library Association) and NTU's Journal of Library and Information Science. Dr. Lin has served on Leaders Council since 2025.
