Offering more choice and flexibility: Introducing OCLC’s modern consortial borrowing

A one-hour webinar about OCLC Resource Sharing for Groups—a new modern consortial borrowing solution that expedites delivery of digital and print items to library users

Este evento es bajo demanda.

Join us for a one-hour webinar with guest panelists from the Big Ten Academic Alliance (BTAA) to learn about OCLC Resource Sharing for Groups—a new modern consortial borrowing solution that expedites delivery of digital and print items to library users. This provider-neutral solution reimagines resource sharing, while offering group members more choice and flexibility by integrating with any standards-based discovery service and library management system.

OCLC's partnership with the BTAA aligns with the group’s goals for the BIG Collection resource sharing. The implementation of Resource Sharing for Groups has resulted in a 99% fill rate for resource requests among BTAA libraries. This exceptional rate underscores the effectiveness of the solution in delivering needed materials to library users quickly and reliably.

The solution also builds on smart fulfillment functionality for fast, predictable delivery based on local policies, group profiles, available resources, library relationships, and user needs. If a request can't be filled within the group, it seamlessly scales out to regional partners and to OCLC's global resource sharing network of more than 10,000 libraries, without any staff intervention.

Panelists include:

  • Brynne Norton, Head, Resource Sharing & Reserves, University of Maryland Libraries
  • Emily Campbell, Director of Document Delivery, University of Michigan Library

Moderator:

  • Jenny Rosenfeld, Product Manager of Delivery Services, Global Product Management, OCLC
