Matthijs van Otegem

Matthijs Van Otegem is director of Utrecht University Library, the Netherlands. In particular, he is interested in open science, diversity and inclusion, digital transformation and change management. Matthijs received his MA in Book & Information Science at the University of Amsterdam and his PhD in philosophy at Utrecht University. He has extensive experience in the library field, of which 12 years at the Koninklijke Bibliotheek – National Library of the Netherlands – and 9 years as director of the library of Erasmus University Rotterdam. In addition to his role as director, he is active in various national and international boards and committees.
