Two days of learning, sharing, insights and connections

How do you build an even smarter library? Conference programming will balance dialogue around our shared futures with discussion around practical “get-started-now” takeaways. Programming will focus on the areas most topical to a “smart” approach, including personalising the customer experience, leveraging ever-increasing volumes of data, reinforcing professional values and ensuring ongoing innovation.

The agenda is being developed to include multiple learning and sharing opportunities, including:

  • Plenary sessions: The entire attendee group will gather to hear from thought leaders inside and outside of the library community. These sessions will feature keynote presentations and panel discussions.
  • Member breakout sessions: These member-driven breakout sessions will feature library leaders, sharing learnings, insights and innovations around the various aspects of building a smarter library. We are seeking member contributions for these sessions; submit your paper today.
  • Lightning talks: Hear from emerging leaders in the community and real-life examples of smarter libraries in action. (You can recommend an up-and-coming speaker or put yourself forward for a lightning talk.)
  • Networking activities: Attendees will have several opportunities to connect with peers during meals, breaks and a special Tuesday night dinner event.

In addition to a full two-day schedule, we are also running two consecutive events on Thursday 22 February—the OCLC Product Day and the WMS Community Event. Both are taking place at the Principal Hotel and will provide you with the opportunity to find out more about OCLC and our products, whilst also giving you the opportunity to share ideas and network.

OCLC Product Day

We have organised a special one-day meeting, the third annual OCLC Product Day, to follow directly after the EMEA Regional Council on Thursday, 22 February.
