Longtime Portland based OCLC trainer Sam Sayre interviewed two local librarians about their innovative interlibrary loan workflows: Cassie Maringer from Washington County Cooperative Library Services (WCCLS) and Rachael Short from Multnomah County Library.

Multnomah County Library is a large urban system that uses ILLiad. The library was one of 10 recipients of the 2009 National Medal for Museum and Library Service, the nation's highest honor for museums and libraries

Washington County Cooperative Library Services operates a shared library automation system and provides many other services including interlibrary loan to the county, nine cities and two non-profit associations. In 2009 circulation topped 10,000,000. WCCLS members have experienced a 43% increase in circulation over the past five years, increasing over 16% in the last year alone.
