Solutions for lenders
ILLiad interfaces directly with OCLC ILL. Requests are downloaded from the OCLC ILL message file and are then transferred to ILLiad.
ILL staff can process requests within local or regional consortia first, then process other requests as determined by the library. If requests do not meet lending requirements of the library, they can be automatically moved to the “No” category.
- From ILLiad, interlibrary loan staff perform an automatic Z39.50 search on their OPAC to determine if they can supply the item.
- If they cannot supply the item, the request is updated with the appropriate reason. If the item is available, the request is moved to the in-process queue.
- Once searching has been completed for all items in the pending file, ILLiad will print a pick list containing location and call number information. Staff retrieve items from the stacks and update the requests to Shipped in OCLC ILLiad. Loan labels or bookstraps are then printed along with shipping labels.
- Article requests can be sent to other ILLiad or Odyssey users via Odyssey.
