I found 338.4761510973 in a number of bibliographic records in WorldCat (the OCLC Online Union Catalog), but my search for this number in the All Fields index yielded no results in WebDewey.  How can I find out what this number means? 

Although a large number of built numbers are available in WebDewey, not all of them are.  When your search yields no results, try browsing.  For example, although there is no exact match for 338.4761510973 in WebDewey, you can browse the Dewey Numbers (with Captions) index for the number.  In this case, you will note a similar number at 338.476151 Drugs (pharmaceuticals)--production economics.  A comparison between your original search for 338.4761510973 and 338.476151 reveals that these numbers refer to essentially the same topic, with the exception that --0973 limits the coverage to the United States (standard subdivision T1--09 plus area table notation T2--73 United States).
