Frankston City Libraries needed a solution that was both sustainable and cost effective to fulfill the demand for comics, manga, and graphic novels from their patrons. With Comics Plus, they were able to provide unlimited access to the resources without waitlists and borrowing limits.
Boosted engagement
In August 2025, the library ran a “Mayor’s Reading Challenge” that saw an increase of 800% in Comics Plus usage compared to the previous year. Comics Plus also allowed weekly comic book club participants to access titles without having to wait, making it easier for people to take part.
Efficiency for staff
The ability to set age restrictions based on content suitability, and the simplicity of the reporting function mean staff can promote the collection confidently to patrons. Analytics available in Comics Plus allow library staff to identify patterns and popular content when making future collection development decisions.
“To anyone considering Comics Plus, I would say jump on board! Comics Plus has removed any wait times and has significantly increased the scope of our collection, which has been well received by patrons of all ages.”
