Content access and management

OCLC content access and management tools make it easier for libraries and their end users to find your content.

WorldCat Link Manager

WorldCat Link Manager is an OpenURL linking and listing service that allows users to link from an article citation in WorldCat to the full-text version of the article. WorldCat Link Manager "puts it all together" for libraries that don't need the hassles of running their own link-server operation.

xISBN Web service

The xISBN Web service supplies ISBNs and other information associated with an individual intellectual work that is represented in WorldCat. Submit an ISBN to this service, and it returns a list of related ISBNs and selected metadata. Ideal for Web-enabled search applications—such as library catalogs and online booksellers—and based on associations made in the WorldCat database, xISBN enables an end user to link to information about other versions of a source work.

WorldCat Registry

The WorldCat Registry is a free Web service for information professionals and administrators at libraries and other knowledge-based institutions, both inside and outside the OCLC cooperative. The Registry provides a single, centralized and Web-accessible location where libraries can maintain a profile that defines their institutional identity. Registry Profile data related to OpenURL services is automatically utilized by OCLC's OpenURL Gateway. This institution-independent resolving service directs link traffic to an appropriate library resource when the information seeker's IP address matches Registry-specified address or address range.
