EZproxy in action: Simple access, protected privacy, and a tour of the new configuration UI
A 30-minute overview of OCLC’s EZproxy—a fully managed, hosted e-resource access and authentication solution that helps you deliver e-resources to users simply and securely, no matter where or when they’re searching. We’ll also take a closer look at the new Configuration UI and how it supports faster, more confident management
This session will explore how EZproxy:
- Helps your library deliver e-content to users simply, effectively, and securely
- Supports single sign-on to e-content using your institution’s preferred authentication method (e.g., SAML or LDAP) while protecting user privacy
- Reduces risk from compromised credentials by helping prevent unauthorized use before systems or data are impacted
- Protects user identity by passing an EZproxy IP address to content providers instead of a user’s IP address
- Provides timely breach notification and can disable access quickly to help limit exposure
- Gives library staff the visibility and evidence they need to investigate issues and strengthen security rules
- Enables easier day-to-day administration with the new configuration UI, including easier and more efficient configuration management and real-time updates
