MELBOURNE, Australia, 28 September 2023Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT), in Australia, has moved to OCLC's WorldShare Management Services as their library services platform to improve workflows, increase access to more resources for students and faculty, and join an ever-growing global network of collaborating libraries.

CIT is one of the largest tertiary education institutions in Canberra, training some 20,000 students annually. CIT is Canberra's longest established and largest vocational education and training provider, providing public education for 95 years. CIT's training is focused on industries, interests, and professions where there are strong job opportunities in Canberra, and is supported by the CIT Library.

WorldShare Management Services (WMS) is a cloud-based library services platform that provides users with fast, reliable access to the library's collections and a worldwide network of knowledge. With WorldCat as its foundation, library staff can draw on OCLC's shared data network and technology for more efficient workflows.

"WMS enhances the CIT student experience through improved access to resources for all CIT students. The system supports the CIT Library's information/digital literacy programs ensuring CIT students acquire the digital literacy skills they need for work or further study," said Christine Robertson, Interim CEO of CIT.

"The new WMS platform also provides streamlined workflows for Library staff and improved analytics. These workflows and automated processes will free staff time up to spend with students. OCLC's WMS ensures resources are accessible anywhere, anytime and on any device," said Julieanne Paulazzo, Acting Senior Manager, CIT Library Services.

"The face-to-face training options and the level of support offered during implementation was critical to the success of this project for CIT," said Liz Finlay, CIT Library ILMS Project Manager. "The implementation project was a massive exercise in collaboration and would not have been possible without the support of the OCLC team. Our amazing project manager kept us on track, championed us through the project and encouraged us to celebrate our achievements."

"We welcome the Canberra Institute of Technology to the growing WorldShare community," said Eric van Lubeek, OCLC Vice President, Global Library Services. "We're confident that WMS will offer students and faculty easy access to more resources to help them succeed."
