Until 2018, Jacques Malschaert was Director of Bibliotheekservice Fryslân, a regional service organization for libraries and other cultural and welfare foundations, based in Leeuwarden, Netherlands. Jacques has served as managing director of several libraries, was chair of the Dutch steering group Basic Skills and Libraries, a member of the steering group Literate Fryslân, and a member of the board of the foundation Oefenen.nl. In 2015, Jacques published the book, Kennis maken en verbinden (in English: Creating and Linking Knowledge). Since 2019 he is consultant / interim manager and initiator of a small theatre "De Hofkamer".
