Jump to: Getting started | After you apply | The interview process | Joining the team | Frequently Asked Questions | We value diversity Since its founding more than forty years ago, OCLC has been a leading international resource providing services to tens of thousands of libraries around the world at local, regional and global levels. The true value of what OCLC has to offer is in the combination of people, skills, histories and cultures, and each contributes to OCLC’s global vision. OCLC boasts outstanding employee satisfaction year after year. We are confident you will find OCLC an exceptional place to work. Getting startedMaking connections and sharing information and resources is what we do here at OCLC. From the OCLC Career Center, you can view our current job openings to see if we can make a connection with you. If you do not find anything at this time but would like to be considered for other future openings, you can create a profile and submit your résumé, which will be added to our searchable database. You can access your online candidate profile at any time to make changes or submit your resumé for future position listings. Via your profile, you may view your job submittal history and check the status of your job inquiry. You may also create up to five job keyword search agents that advise you when an opening is available that meets your keyword search. After you applyAfter you build your personal profile, you will receive an acknowledgment on screen and an e-mail confirmation will be sent to you. This indicates that your submission has successfully reached Human Resources. Due to the high volume of resumes received, we are not able to individually follow up to confirm receipt of submitted information or provide other status updates. Human Resources will review your qualifications and résumé, compare your background and skills with those of other applicants, and then forward the résumés of the most appropriately qualitifed applicants to the hiring manager. If the hiring manager requests an interview, or if we wish to discuss your candidacy, we will contact you by telephone or e-mail. If you are not contacted, your profile and résumé will remain in our searchable database for potential future review and consideration. To be considered for additional open positions displayed at the OCLC Career Center, you will need to apply for that specific position online. The interview processOur interview process varies among business groups and often from position to position. An initial phone screening may be conducted to discuss your background and experience to determine if you are a good fit for the position, or you may be invited to OCLC for an in-person interview. Prior to the interview, you will be asked to complete the official OCLC online employment application. During the interview, the hiring manager and/or the Human Resources manager will discuss the position, your work experience, and evaluate your compatibility for the position. In some cases, additional interviews may be scheduled before making a final decision. Joining the teamIf you are selected for a position at OCLC, a Human Resources representative will extend a formal offer to you. The offer package includes starting salary and a summary of benefits. You will be given a date by which we will need to be informed of your decision. All offers are contingent upon the successful completion of background and reference checks and a pre-employment drug screen test. New employees generally start on Mondays. Orientation sessions are also held on Mondays. Frequently Asked Questions
