Using a WSkey (Web services key) for your upgrade to ILLiad version 8.4

ILLiad software version 8.4 is now available. At this time, a WSKey is not required for ILLiad 8.4 users. However, you will need a WSKey, if you would like to use the Article Exchange enhancement (highly recommended). Later in November, a WSkey will also be needed for the Policies Directory service.

Best Practices for using OCLC’s Article Exchange for Document Delivery

On April 2, Joanne McIntyre, Interlibrary Loan Librarian at Levy Library, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai will join OCLC’s Tony Melvyn and Genie Powell of Atlas Systems in a webinar about the benefits of using Article Exchange for document delivery. Joanne will share information about her use of Article Exchange and her users’ response to retrieving documents from the site. Tony will share tips about effective use of Article Exchange and will provide a glimpse into plans for future enhancements. Genie will review the effective use of Article Exchange with the ILLiad interlibrary loan service.

WorldShare™ Interlibrary Loan is one of the first services to use a new system for managing user accounts for OCLC services. Before you log on to WorldShare Interlibrary Loan for the first time, you must set up a new OCLC Services user account for interlibrary loan.

The Article Exchange document-sharing site is now accessible from within the WorldCat Resource Sharing service and through an ILLiad Addon. Stephanie Spires, Atlas Systems, and Tony Melvyn, OCLC demonstrate how Article Exchange provides a single, secure location where lending libraries can place requested documents and library users can retrieve articles or book chapters obtained for them via interlibrary loan.
